Environment isn’t just where I live. It’s how I live. It’s the dogs curled at my feet, the macaw calling out from across the room, and the slow, grounding act of tending to the garden. It’s every plant on the windowsill, every breeze that filters through the trees outside, and every hand-stirred meal cooked over a wood stove. These things aren’t distractions — they’re part of the rhythm.

At Patchouli Dreams, what surrounds me ends up in the work. The joy of having animals nearby; the lessons I’ve learned raising intercultural children, and the comfort of the natural world all pour into the color, texture, and feel of every piece. The art doesn’t just come from emotion — it comes from place.

My studio might look like a mix of Boho layers and earthy corners, but it’s also alive. Alive with motion, light, sound, and soul. That’s the kind of environment that inspires me — not pristine or polished, but deeply personal. A space where being surrounded by life makes creation possible.

So if you ever wonder where Patchouli Dreams art comes from, just look a little closer — the dogs, the plants, the music, the wood smoke — it’s all in there.
