PD began as a path to heal, express, discover and emote the enormous amount of energy that I needed to use in a positive way.
I have always considered myself a creative, positive, truthful avatar, but an unfair event in my life left me stripped of my very soul. It took me a year, but with my husband’s encouragement and a friend’s kind critiques, I crawled out of the black hole I had been thrown into and colored my way back to the light. I found a way to invoke my old spirit through painting whether it portrayed nature or joy or anger or confusion; it is my thoughts and feelings that pour on to the canvas. Each day is a new adventure. Every day, the canvas calls my name. Every day I’m grateful for the colors of experience.

Why It Matters
Every piece reflects a journey of recovery, expression, and peace.
With the exception of the gold and copper paints that I use, EVERY other color is custom made. It has to feel right.Not only can I not replicate an entire painting, I cannot even replicate the colors of my paints. Each painting is its own unique adventure.Sometimes the paints take me down the well worn paths, but more often than not, “I [take] the road less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."
They are to be felt, not just looked upon. Although my inspirations come from the colors I use and the techniques I apply, everyone is entitled to their own juju - that’s the extraordinary power of the colors. It's not always grandiose juju;it is truth, no matter how reticent or tumultuous.
